A day at the park

Saturday, June 23rd, 2007

Check out these great shots of David and his family - thanks to Celebrity Baby Blog for posting these originally. Oh, and maybe one of you can tell - are the rumors true? Is David’s wife sporting a baby bump? That’s what some of the rumors are saying…

Fry and Jackson together?

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Check out James’s post on Stephen Fry’s appearance on Bones. It’s a pretty good post and makes you appreciate American TV (compared to British according to him…) The post also points out that Stephen is supposedly writing the script for a new Peter Jackson film! How odd…

At least 2 more years of Bones!

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

nathan_stephen.jpg Fox TV and Stephen Nathan have signed a two year contract to keep him on the show Bones with Hart Hanson - meaning that we’re guarnateed at least two more seasons! The contract also has an option for a third year, so hopefully we’ll see them around for that much longer!

Nathan pointed out that next year is season 3 for Bones, which he “notes is key as it reaches the magical syndication episodic threshold.” In his interview with Variety.com, Nathan said, “I had a 20-year background in comedy before moving to drama, and this is a great melding of the two styles for me. It’s just such a unique show, at least in my experience. We’re really able to do a style of show that I think has been missing from TV.”

TJ clip

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

Oh, and by the way, did anyone else notice that the guy only shot his monitors? What’s the deal with that? If he wanted to trash his files, wouldn’t he want to shoot the actual hard drive? Just a thought…

TJ’s guest appearance in Fastlane

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

Here’s a clip of TJ in Fastlane (thanks to sunnyjewellery via Youtube). Personally, this isn’t a show I’ve ever heard of, much less followed, so I can’t give you my two cents worth. However, since we’re all about following our favorite cast, I figured it couldn’t hurt to share a clip featuring one of our favorite squints! Isn’t he just so cute in the glasses? (Yeah, I like his Bones geek-ness better too…)

Will they or won’t they

The never-ending question about the Booth-Bones relationship is once again the topic of debate. Okay, so not really debate, but more like an interview/article at The Courier Mail.

Emily said:

“In the world of Bones, Booth and Brennan, I think, belong together,” she laughs.”I just don’t know, in the series, how long it will take them to get there. I’m just saying in the future, I’d like to see them get together.”

Check out the article to see what David and Emily have to say about the constant back and forth banter between Bones and Booth.

Don’t miss it!

Season 3 SPOILERS!!

Friday, June 8th, 2007

You were warned! Okay, so neither of these are earthshattering, but still…

Kristin at E! answered various questions on different shows, two of which referred to our beloved Bones. Check out her responses.

Cynthia in Hermosa Beach: Is Cam coming back to Bones next year?
Tamara Taylor is back as a regular in season three. Show creator Hart Hanson says, “We are keeping Tamara! We did not kill Cam, you’ll notice. She got to be really popular, so we can’t kill her—and she’s so beautiful!” The original plan was to bring her on and then off her in ep six, but she gelled so well with the cast that her death was pushed back to ep 13, and so on. As for Cam’s future, Tamara Taylor has some ideas: “I’d like a love interest, if I could just put that out there. Because the whole triangle, while good, you have to add more nuance, you have to add more layers to it.”

Sally in Apple Valley, California: Any dish on season three of Bones?
Zack returns from Iraq for season three, but he may be a changed, more mature man. As executive producer Stephen Nathan quips about this so-called maturity, “Yeah, he’ll be about 20 years older and have a beard!”

Bones therapy clip

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

I so can’t wait for season 3 of Bones… If this little clip is anything like what we have to look forward to, well, hurray for us. Although I guess I’ve grown accustomed to the greatness that is Bones, so no big shock there!

Hart talks about special effects

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

Check out Variety.com for an article that addresses the use of special effects and the show’s budges. Hart Hanson talks about Bones and how they use the in-house experiments the squints do in place of costly flashback scenes. For example, the episode where Zach and Hodgins used a body made from fake bones and Spam - remember that one? They caught it on fire and got reprimanded by Cam?

The article also talks about some of our other favorite shows, including Heroes. Check it out!

Weird Angel connection

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

moonlight.jpg Okay, so maybe David is trying as hard as humanly possible to distance himself from his Buffy and Angel years, but those of us who are his fans will never forget where we first fell in love with him. So, on the topic of Angel, since our favorite vampire with a soul has been off the air for a while, the co-creator of Daivd’s claim to fame (David Greenwalt) is taking his vampire talent elsewhere.

According to Zap2It, new drama coming this fall called Moonlight will feature an “undead private investigator (Alex O’Loughlin [see photo above]) fighting various supernatural forces while also battling very human crime. He’s joined by his former bride and vamp sire (Amber Valletta) and his vampire mentor (Rade Serbedzija). The vampire P.I. also has a budding romance with a living newswoman (Lucio in the presentation).” Sound a little like a show we all miss? Hmmm…. it’s sad when they try to replace something you love with something that just can’t ever fill it’s shoes.

Sorry, I guess I shouldn’t say that it’s destined to fail before I even see it, but I do have to admit that I won’t be able to watch the show without comparing it to Angel. However, maybe having Greenwalt on board will help.

Other than the Angel connection, I thought it was funny that you hear Bones compared to the show Moonlighting so often, and here’s this new show with so many tie-backs to David Boreanaz, and it’s called Moonlight. Coincidence?

Michaela talks about the wedding

Monday, June 4th, 2007

michaela-1.jpg In an interview with Zap2It, Michaela talks about the final episode and the wedding of the season! She talked about the stress of filming the episode, saying “I didn’t realize — I don’t know why — that even though I was just playing a bride and not really getting married, you still go through all the stress of fitting the dress and taking the pictures and walking down the aisle and all that.”

She also talks about having Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top play her father. Apparently, filming a wedding got to him also! Michaela said about Billy, “when we were standing in the foyer before the doors opened to walk down the aisle, he looked and he’s like, ‘My heart’s really beating. This is nervous.’ I said, ‘Why?’ He said, ‘It all feels so real.’ And it does. The production values are so high.”

Check out the rest of the article at Zap2It to read more from Michaela.

Emily is in the running!

Friday, June 1st, 2007

Good news! PETA has fixed their oversight and has added Emily’s name to their list of potential “world’s sexiest vegetarian celebrity!” So make sure to take a minute and go vote for her online!

About Watching Bones

Who doesn’t love forensic anthropology? Okay, so maybe not, but throw in David Boreanaz and an FBI agent and former sniper along with Emily Deschanel as anthropologist-by-day and best selling author-by-night, as well as other awesome cast members TJ Thyne, Micheala Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and Eric Millegan, and you’ve got a mix for an awesome show. That’s just what you get with Bones. A crime drama that has great wit, great writing, and obviously a great cast; Deschanel’s character Temperance “Bones? Brennan is socially illiterate, although brilliant, and balances out Boreanaz’s character Agent Seeley Booth as they work together to solve sometimes years-old murders. Backed by the “squints? at the Jeffersonian Museum, this team is unstoppable, but it’s the people and the relationships that really make the show. Don’t miss a minute of it!
