Top 10 favorite Bones episodes

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

If you asked me what my favorite episode of Bones was, I’d have a really hard time deciding what that would be. Apparently, many others wouldn’t be at such a loss. Sorry I missed this poll while it was open, but I thought it was neat to see what the masses thought of different Bones episodes. Tracie has listed the results of her poll on what the favorite Bones episodes of Seasons 1, 2, and 3 were. Funny thing is, the top three shows from last year were the same as the top three from this year - regardless of the new season of episodes.

I think I have to agree that The Baby in the Bough was one of my favorites, as well as The Verdict in the Story. The Mummy in the Maze episode was also one of my favorites - I loved seeing Bones lose it over the snakes, how she screamed and jumped on Booth’s back - and then how she shot him in the leg before finally admitting that maybe the gun was too big for her… Also, that was the Halloween episode where we got to see Angela dressed up as Cher, Cam as Catwoman, Zack as half a cow, Booth as a squint, and best of all, Bones dressed as Wonder Woman! Yeah, I guess that one has to my favorite so far…

How about you - did any of your favorites make the list?

New episodes of Bones to start next week!

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

Tonight’s reruns of Bones (there were two back to back) are getting us ready for next week. Can you believe the new season starts next week!?! How awesome! Anyway, tonight we got reruns of the last two episodes of last season - Wannabe In the Weeds and A Pain in the Heart. You know, just in case any of us fans had forgotten how they left us hanging last spring. I thought the two-hour, back-to-back episodes were an especially nice touch since we’ll also be getting a blessed two-hour event next week…

David Boreanaz talks about shooting in London

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

What would you miss most about being overseas? For David Boreanaz, a good cup of coffee and a cheeseburger topped his list! Check out some of his other observations about London - such as how respectful the fans were of their shooting - and what he reveals about the season premiere. Looks like we can expect some attempts at a British accent from Booth (should be fun), and some flirtation between Bones and her English counterpart, but we saw that coming.

We can also expect some fun on a double-decker bus, and of course the famous traffic turn-around where there is a driving snafu. Some of the other things David talks about in the interview are:

* About kicking Season Four off in London …
* About some of the locations …
* “Booth’s” reaction to “Ian Wexler” hitting on “Bones” …
* About attempting an accent …
* About the relationship between “Booth” and “Bones” …
* How “Booth” and “Bones” will work together in this episode
* About shooting the “mini-cooper” scene …
* About British fans …
* What I miss the most about America …

Emily Deschanel talks about London

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

We’re all curious about the season premiere of Bones - more so, I think, because we’ve been without for so long, rather than the whole “London” aspect, although it will be interesting to see them overseas. Here’s a quick interview with Emily Deschanel about shooting in London. In it, she answers the questions:

* Why is “Bones” in London?
* What’s it like filming in London?
* About shooting the “Tower Bridge” scene …
* Are British fans different than American fans?
* I lived in London for a year.

I was interested in what she said about how the scenery (i.e. buildings) haven’t really changed much since she lived there as a little girl. That’s a pet peeve of mine about how wasteful we are here in the US - if a building sits empty too long, or if it doesn’t suit a company that otherwise wants the location, they just tear it down and rebuild. I get it if it’s falling down or condemned or something, but it just seems like such a waste of money to me… Oh well, I’m not in construction, what do I know, right?

Celebrate with Eric today!

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Happy, happy birthday Eric! Today Eric Millegan is 34 years young!

(Considering he’s known for his “baby-face,” it’s kind of ironic that he’s younger than only David Boreanaz and Tamara Taylor on the show Bones!)

Emily goes “Green with Glamour”

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

You don’t get much better publicity than when a person, especially a famous person, who’s known for supporting your cause, gives you a seriously high recommendation. Such is the case for Green with Glamour, a shop that provides upscale products that are eco-friendly without losing the quality or luxury we’ve all come to love.

Emily Deschanel has not only given her support for the store, but has partnered with them as well. She says about them, “My number one place to buy gifts is Green with Glamour, but I never can resist getting several things for myself as well. It’s wonderful to know that you can be eco-friendly, ethically sound, and not have to scrimp on style. They do all of the whittling away, so you are only browsing the creme de la creme. It makes shopping so easy! From eco fashion to beautiful furniture, GWG has everything I could possibly want (or need).” Pretty seriously glowing recommendation if you ask me.

This is just one of the items Emily has flagged as a “favorite” item for her. How funny - bones…

Emily has an “About Emily” section on the Green with Glamour site, as well as a page that lists her 5 favorite eco-products. Pretty awesome Emily!

What can David Boreanaz learn from Frasier, I mean, Kelsey Grammer?

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Can I get on a soapbox for a moment? I read an interview recently (in an OLD magazine) with Kelsey Grammer - better known as “Frasier Crane” on the show Frasier. Now I realize that Grammer has a few years on David Boreanaz, but I couldn’t help but be so pleased with some of what he said that I wish David would take a page from his book…

We all know from various sources and interviews that David Boreanaz does not like to talk about Angel much at all. I heard or read once that it had something to do with the fact that he was still “new” to acting or something like that. Regardless of whether or not David is proud of his personal acting on the show, his fans absolutely adore him in it. We have no problems with is acting skills, or possible lack there-of.

Anyway, the basis for this rant is this. In the magazine interview (Ladies’ Home Journal - November 2007) titled “Grammer Lessons” by David Hochman, Grammer was asked the following question. His response really made me think of how David tries to distance himself from Angel.

LHJ: Still, audiences will forever think of you as Frasier Crane. Is that ever frustrating?
KG: I accept that if I ever play King Lear, the headlines will read FRASIER DOES LEAR. But it would be indecorous [lacking propriety or good taste] of me to think that’s some sort of travail. By dint of circumstance, I created a character that cast a shadow across the world and I’m incredibly grateful for that. If you have luck in your life, you can only hope your work touches people the way Frasier did.

Yes, I realize I’m comparing a show that was on the air 11 seasons to one that was on 5, but you’re kidding yourself if you don’t think that people loved Angel every bit as dearly. Anyway, I just had to get that off my chest. Okay, stepping off soapbox now…

PREVIEW clips of Yanks in the UK

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Just in case the title of this post didn’t warn you enough…

Wouldn’t you love to have the inside scoop like Kristin at E!Online does… How cool of a job that would be! Guess the next best thing is that it’s her job to share her inside scoops with us! Anyway, she got to talk with Hart Hanson and Barry Josephson about the upcoming season of Bones, and while some of it was repeats of what we’ve already heard (and heard, and heard), some of the stuff was new info, like tht Bones may be going on location more as time goes on, and she even blessed us with some clips from the upcoming season premiere, Yanks in the UK. Check them out below if you don’t mind spoilers - otherwise, save me the nasty comments about spoiling it for you and don’t watch!

My favorite clip - it’s a toss-up between clips 1 and 2. I LOVE where Booth freaks out in traffic, and when the guy gets a surprise when he hits Booth, that’s pretty awesome… What do you think?

Who makes a better vampire?

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

I realize that the show Moonlight didn’t make it, and I personally can’t say I’m devastated since I never really got into it. However, I did watch a little of the show once, and I can’t help but STILL be biased even after all these years of David Boreanaz’s show Angel being off the air. And, even with as much as he wants to distance himself from it, it was and ever shall be a cult hit, so I can’t help but say “long live Angel!”

Anyway, the point to all this is to ask your opinion. Who is the better, scarier, sexier vampire? Check out the pics below of David in his role as Angel and Alex O’Loughlin in his role as Mick and let us know what you think! I guess my allegiance is a given, but I’m curious to see what everyone else thinks…

This shot of David as a vampire in Angel isn’t a great shot - believe it or not, for some reason most all the shots of him I could find were of him out of costume. We all know how gorgeous his face is normally, and since I’m asking about who’s the better vampire, this will have to do. Besides, if you were a fan of the show, you remember what he looked like, right?

Here’s a shot of O’Loughlin in make-up getting vamped and then the final product. This is a pretty good shot of his vamp-face. So… what’s the verdict guys? And no fair to poor O’Loughlin basing your decision on the face that his show got only one season and David’s got five. Hmmm, what does that say about the shows? Sorry, couldn’t help myself…
But in all fairness, Moonlight had a following of it’s own, so who knows?

Funny, just realized I’ve asked this question before… Guess I just can’t help but think about it since TV seems to really be lacking in good Sci-Fi/Fantasy shows since Buffy, Angel, and Charmed went off the air…

Bones Season 3 coming out soon!

Monday, August 18th, 2008

Check it out! We can finally have all of Season 3 plus extras at our fingertips! Coming out November 18th, the set will run about $60.00, ($59.98 to be specific) but right now, Amazon has it for $41.99 as a pre-order.

The set will have 5 discs and will include two versions of the episode “The Player under Pressure,” the one we actually saw and the one that was shot originally and edited after the VT shootings. Oddly enough, it will also include the two-part season premier for season 4. Along with typical bonus material, director’s takes, the set will include gag reels, which are some of my favorite parts of TV on DVD.

So, the new season starts in September, then we can have Season 3 will all it’s extras in November - all just in time for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Hurray!

David Boreanaz promotes 100th FBI Anniversary

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

How cool is this? David Boreanaz takes part in a kind of public service announcement to #1 - celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the FBI, and #2 - to urge us to be appreciative and thankful for the job they do in protecting our country. It’s always nice to see celebrities getting involved in something worthwhile, and regardless of what you think of our government, you’ve still got to appreciate the men and women who work at a job they believe in and put their lives on the line for others. Kind of neat that with all the “cop” shows and different people playing FBI out there today that they would choose David Boreanaz for the video. Guess they recognize a good representative when they see one!

Thanks to Wendy at Obsessed with Bones for pointing this out!

No doubt, Emily Deschanel is Hot in Hollywood!

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

I told you just a little bit earlier that Emily Deschanel and Eric Millegan would be singing together at the Hot In Hollywood 3 event. I haven’t heard officially how it went, but it seems that according to USA Today, Emily and Eric’s performance was one of the top numbers! Here are just a few shots of the beautiful Miss Emily on the red carpet at the event…

Regis and Kelly talk to David Boreanaz

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

Hey! Here’s the infamous Uncle Art!

In this interview with Regis and Kelly, David Boreanaz talks about blogging for the NHL, the relationship between Booth and Bones, and once again mentions Uncle Art - although this time we actually get to see/meet him.

Yes, I realize that is is a prett old interview, but like I said earlier, I don’t get to watch much TV these days - and when I do, it’s mostly “toddler TV.” So, just in case you missed out on it like I did, here it is!

David Boreanaz interviews with Craig Ferguson

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

A little while after Emily Deschanel was interviewed on The Late Show with Craig Ferguson, David Boreanaz followed suit. They started the segment with a clip from the show - same as they did with Emily’s interview. The clip they used from The Wannabe in the Weeds cracks me up - I love seeing people I recognize from other shows. In this one, all I can see is Neelix from Star Trek: Voyager (the last Star Trek show before they went back to do “Enterprise“)

In the interview, David corrects Craig about the color of his upholstery and explains that he’s color-savvy because they’re redecorating their house. Then he calls Craig on the man-crush he admitted to having on David to Emily Deschanel. That little bit was worth the whole interview! Later, Craig compares Bones to Moonlighting (haven’t heard that one before…) only he goes on to say, unlike anything I’ve heard comparing the shows before, that Bones is better because Moonlighting didn’t have enough skeletons in it. (I wonder if the ever get tired of hearing their show compared to Moonlighting…)

They talk briefly about David’s birthday plans with “uncle Art” and exactly who this Uncle Art guy is. This quickly disintegrates into more crude talk (which seems to happen pretty often and pretty effortlessly between these two guys!), and then David admits to having a case of “Blackberry Thumb,” and more hilarity ensues. Maybe I should make a point to watch more late night tv…

Check out the video and enjoy!

Emily Deschanel’s interview with Craig Ferguson

Friday, August 15th, 2008

I don’t get to watch the late night talk shows - really they’ve never been my “thing.” So, I always have to catch the interview I actually want to see later - so hurray for YouTube! Here’s an interview with Craig Ferguson and Emily Deschanel, although I can’t for the life of me figure out what he keeps calling the show Bones. The interview includes the riveting discussions of how much money Emily makes, how Emily takes her new bone knowledge into everyday life, how when you die your skeleton “pops right out,” Craig’s attraction to her sexy co-star David Boreanaz, and a discussion of vegan, or “fake” cheese. (I really liked the part where Craig says that “it’s really not that bad” is not a recommendation for food - so true!!!)

About Watching Bones

Who doesn’t love forensic anthropology? Okay, so maybe not, but throw in David Boreanaz and an FBI agent and former sniper along with Emily Deschanel as anthropologist-by-day and best selling author-by-night, as well as other awesome cast members TJ Thyne, Micheala Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and Eric Millegan, and you’ve got a mix for an awesome show. That’s just what you get with Bones. A crime drama that has great wit, great writing, and obviously a great cast; Deschanel’s character Temperance “Bones? Brennan is socially illiterate, although brilliant, and balances out Boreanaz’s character Agent Seeley Booth as they work together to solve sometimes years-old murders. Backed by the “squints? at the Jeffersonian Museum, this team is unstoppable, but it’s the people and the relationships that really make the show. Don’t miss a minute of it!
