David Boreanaz gets grumpy
I really don’t understand why David Boreanaz is so sensitive about his eternally-famous part as Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the self-names Angel. As far as I’m concerned, that role is what gave him his biggest boost into acting. (Sure, I know he started out in Married with Children, but that show just can’t compete with the cult following both Buffy and Angel had/has…) So, in the spirit of Angel fans everywhere who are sadly disappointed that he wants to distance himself from the character as much as possible, I have to share David’s nickname courtesy of Andrew Williams of Metro.co.uk: Grumpy Dave. Great huh?
No hard feelings or anything David, just having a little fun. But on a more serious note, Andrew has a pretty good interview with David where he admits that he and costar Emily Deschanel get on each other’s nerves and taunts British boxing fans. Oh, and grumbles some when asked a question about Angel. Poor David, he just can’t get away from his past… too bad it’s a really great past!
Here’s just a small excerpt from the interview - check out the rest of it here!
What’s the worst job you’ve had?
I worked in a posh sports club for a couple of days. I got fired when I kicked a door down. I kicked it down because the key wasn’t working. Were you tempted to become a weatherman like your dad?
No. My dad just reads the weather, he isn’t exactly a ‘weatherman’ like a meteorologist. He started in radio and had his own talk show and now he reads the weather in Philadelphia. After the critically derided slasher flick Valentine, would you star in another horror film?
Yes, if it was psychologically correct. When I did Valentine, it was a studio picture and it worked in my schedule, I only had a few weeks to shoot it. It was a great experience.
