Actors supporting strike

As much as this writer’s strike sucks for us viewers, we have to appreciate the writer’s demands. And, in their appreciation for being given good scripts and therefore the jobs they currently have, a lot of the actors/actresses are also supporting the writers. Which is how it should be. Here are a few shots of David Boreanaz on the picket line to show his support for the writers. Apparently many, many big names have shown up to support their cause, such as Heroes own Masi Oka, aka Hiro Nakamura, Sandra Oh, and Alicia Keys, just to name a few.

Supposedly, the two sides are set to resume talks after the Thanksgiving holiday, and hopefully they can come to some kind of resolution. Not only for the fans who would rather see new shows than reruns, but also for the people in the business who aren’t protected by a union – like the make-up artists, set workers, etc. who end up losing pay, benefits, and sometimes their jobs. Oddly enough, most of them are all behind the writers during their strike, which to me makes the writer’s points even more valid. Instead of being put out by their personal hardships, they support the strike that’s hurting them. Go figure.

Anyway, until the strike is settled, we can expect reruns of Bones interspersed with the remaining new episodes. Also, Bones will move to Friday nights for a while along with House starting in January. Then later in March, it will be replaced with ‘Til Death and The Return of Jezebel James – but I didn’t understand for how long. (If you’ve got info to clarify that, let me know!)

Let’s just hope for everyone’s sake that it’s sooner rather than later…

About Watching Bones

Who doesn’t love forensic anthropology? Okay, so maybe not, but throw in David Boreanaz and an FBI agent and former sniper along with Emily Deschanel as anthropologist-by-day and best selling author-by-night, as well as other awesome cast members TJ Thyne, Micheala Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and Eric Millegan, and you’ve got a mix for an awesome show. That’s just what you get with Bones. A crime drama that has great wit, great writing, and obviously a great cast; Deschanel’s character Temperance “Bones? Brennan is socially illiterate, although brilliant, and balances out Boreanaz’s character Agent Seeley Booth as they work together to solve sometimes years-old murders. Backed by the “squints? at the Jeffersonian Museum, this team is unstoppable, but it’s the people and the relationships that really make the show. Don’t miss a minute of it!
