A new character for the Bones team?
Thursday, April 10th, 2008Well, he’s done it again…
TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello has fed us a tidbit of tantalizing information about Bones and has left us wanting more. In response to a fan’s quest for more info on Bones, here’s what he had to say.
Ausiello: Get used to the name “Vincent Juarez.” I suspect we may be seeing a lot of him next season. He’s one of Dr. Brennan’s brighter grad students and he’ll be joining the Squints until Brennan can find a new full-time forensic anthropologist. The yet-to-be-cast character loves to lighten the mood in the lab, but he definitely thinks he’s funnier than he actually is. In other words, it’s Nicholas Brendon’s role to lose. In related news, does anyone know why Bones would be looking for a new full-time forensic anthropologist? Hmmm….
We’ll have to wait to see who ends up with the role, but I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing Nicholas Brendon and David Boreanaz together again, although I can’t help but think that was more of a poke at good ‘ole Xander than truth. Guess we’ll have to wait and see! And why does Brennan need to find a new full-time forensic anthropologist?
Bones to move locations?
Friday, March 21st, 2008We love Bones. We love the cast, the storyline, the writing. We love the dynamic relationship between Booth and Bones that keeps us wanting more. We love Zach’s inability to relate to common people, Angela and Hodgins unconventional relationship and Cam’s ability to be a boss, friend and colleage all at the same time. Now, as we finish up Season 3 and look forward to Season 4, there may be a new thing for us to love…
According to an interview with David Boreanaz and Hart Hanson, the show has just received a go-ahead for 20 new episodes in Season 4, and the possibility of shooting abroad! Hanson said “Some of the contenders are Spain, Monaco, Italy — it just depends on how it gets put together.”
Now that Boreanaz is a producer on the show, he’s enjoying the ability to make a bigger impact on the show, which includes location. He’s finding out that being a producer isn’t all glitz and glamour though. “I’m actually busier now. I’m not scheduling myself out of any episodes. This has enabled me to do more things, expand my horizons, meet other people, make more impact.”
I guess we’ll have to wait and see where the show ends up as far as location, but regardless of where it is, I’m sure it will only get better!
Bones to air two new episodes!
Thursday, February 21st, 2008Yay! Now that the writer’s strike is finally over (and we all breathe a hugs sigh of relief!), our beloved shows are picking back up where they left off and trying to salvage what’s left of the season. Writers are scrambling to put together the last few episodes, and fans are drooling - still - for new viewing. The great news is that Bones will continue as planned with the remaining four pre-strike episodes - as we were promised - three new and the one they pulled from last year. But wait, there’s more! We’ll be getting two, count it, two additional episodes!
New Bones episdoes pushed back to May
Wednesday, January 9th, 2008Yes, I realize that this news came out a few days ago, so forgive me for my lateness. (I’ve been fortunate to have a healthy baby up until this past week or so - we’re having fun with the croup!)
Anyway, according to the Ausiello Report, the remaining 3, actually 4, episodes of Bones have been pushed back and will not air until May. The only good news about this is that the people in charge have decided to give us the episode “Player Under Pressure” that was previously canceled due to the school shootings at Tech. Although even that episode is said to have been “tweaked.” Wonder what that means… And of course there’s always the comment I read by one fan that basically said “sure, they say that they’re going to show it to us now, but by the time May gets here there will be another school shooting and we won’t get to see it then either.” Terribly pessimistic way to look at things, but in today’s world, maybe not so far off the mark.
Also, while we were expecting Bones to move to Fridays, it’s supposedly moved back to Mondays, following Canterbury’s Law. The Monday combo of Canterbury and Bones will begin on April 28th. Or so they say for now… The bottom line in all of this is that the network is settling in for a very long strike. Sucks for us fans!
Bones moves to Tuesdays
Tuesday, August 7th, 2007The fall season is just around the corner and Bones will be starting back before too long - so make sure you know when and where to find it! This fall, Bones will be moving from their previous home on Wednesday nights to Tuesdays. According to an article on Actress Archives, “It doesn’t hurt that Bones, a hit for Fox, now doesn’t have to worry about facing a formidable time slot with ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy spin-off Private Practice, NBC’s Bionic Woman, The CW’s Gossip Girl, and CBS’ Criminal Minds.” Like we would miss Bones anyway!
At least 2 more years of Bones!
Thursday, June 14th, 2007
Fox TV and Stephen Nathan have signed a two year contract to keep him on the show Bones with Hart Hanson - meaning that we’re guarnateed at least two more seasons! The contract also has an option for a third year, so hopefully we’ll see them around for that much longer!
Nathan pointed out that next year is season 3 for Bones, which he “notes is key as it reaches the magical syndication episodic threshold.” In his interview with Variety.com, Nathan said, “I had a 20-year background in comedy before moving to drama, and this is a great melding of the two styles for me. It’s just such a unique show, at least in my experience. We’re really able to do a style of show that I think has been missing from TV.”
Bones Season 2 on DVD
Monday, June 11th, 2007Mark your calendars! Season 2 of Bones comes out on DVD September 11th! The set will include 6 discs and will have the unaired episode Player Under Pressure. There will also be a special F/X feature, deleted scenes, gag reels from both seasons, and The Angelator!
Don’t miss it!
Fox’s reason for the rerun
Friday, April 20th, 2007
I am so proud of the Fox network - and I don’t mean that as a sarcastic statment… According to an article at E!,
The network made the decision to pull a new episode of Bones from its Wednesday lineup, fearing that the plotline, which centers on the discovery of human remains on a college campus, would strike too close to home.
“Out of sensitivity to the victims and families touched by this senseless tragedy, we felt the change was appropriate,” a Fox spokesperson told E! News.
Since the episode that was postponed was about a college student found dead on campus, Fox has yet to determine when it will air. As I said in my previous post, I typically am not a fan of reruns, but when there is a reason such as this, I commend the network for their sensitivity and am more than willing to wait!
As we Bones fans continue to look forward to our Wednesday fix of David and Emily, please keep the victims and families of the Tech shooting in your thoughts and prayers!
About Watching Bones
Who doesn’t love forensic anthropology? Okay, so maybe not, but throw in David Boreanaz and an FBI agent and former sniper along with Emily Deschanel as anthropologist-by-day and best selling author-by-night, as well as other awesome cast members TJ Thyne, Micheala Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and Eric Millegan, and you’ve got a mix for an awesome show. That’s just what you get with Bones. A crime drama that has great wit, great writing, and obviously a great cast; Deschanel’s character Temperance “Bones Brennan is socially illiterate, although brilliant, and balances out Boreanaz’s character Agent Seeley Booth as they work together to solve sometimes years-old murders.
Backed by the “squints at the Jeffersonian Museum, this team is unstoppable, but it’s the people and the relationships that really make the show. Don’t miss a minute of it!
