David really is an “angel!”

Friday, January 12th, 2007

david-2-dogs.jpgWho knew David Boreanaz was an animal lover? Okay, so yeah, we knew he had two dogs, but did you know that he appeared in an ad campaign for PETA with his two furry friends? Using a play on words about his staring role as Angel, the ad features him with Fritz and Bertha Blue with the text “Be your dogs’ angel. Play with them…take them for nice long walks…don’t ever chain them.”
Check it out! Aren’t they cute – all three of them!

Micheala Conlin in Enchanted

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

If you’re a big fan of Micheala Conlin, keep your schedule open Wednesday, November 12th 2007. That’s currently the scheduled release date of a new Disney movie Enchanted in which Micheala will play the character May.

As odd as it may sound for Micheala to be playing in a Disney movie, this doesn’t sound like your typical Disney fare. The story is based on a princess who is exiled from her animated, fairy-tale land to the real world of Manhattan. Of course you know there’s got to be some romantic something in there, so expect to have a little love-related conflict in the mix. Okay, so maybe it souunds a little cheesy, but Disney has a good reputation, so I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. Besides, it’s staring Susan Sarandon, James Marsden, Patrick Dempsey, and Amy Adams. And of course, our lovely Micheala.

The film will start out animated, everything I’ve read seems to imply that it will only be for the first 10 to 20 minutes of the film, so if you’re not a cartoon person, don’t despair. The animation will be a tribute to the old-style animation, so don’t go expecting any of the CG stuff we’ve all become accustomed to. A modern-day romance with a little bit of fairy-tale magic in it, the movie sounds like a cute family film.

All the plot outlines I’ve read are pretty brief, and pretty much all the same, and none of them actually mention what we can expect of the character May, but regardless, I’m looking forward to seeing Micheala on the big screen.

Also interesting, this film has been in the works since 1997. There have been three previous attempts to get this movie made, so hopefully the fourth time will be the charm. (I always thought it was supposed to be the third, but then what do I know?)

Who is Michaela Conlin?

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

Michaela ConlinI say this in hopes that I don’t sound too odd or anything like that, but I’ve been wondering about Michaela Conlin (Angela) on Bones. She’s got this exotic beauty that I’ve been curious about. Come to find out she’s the product of a Chinese mother and Irish father, so it makes sense that a combination like that would give her a different look about her.

Looking into her bio a little further, she makes me feel very unaccomplished! Just a few months older than me, I wouldn’t have thought she was my age. Surely to be a stage and TV actress she would have to be older than me, right? But then, she did start acting at age six. At six I was in second grade, terrified of getting up in front of the class to recite my address and phone number. Not exactly the makings for an actress of any kind.

Other than Bones, she’s stared in The It Factor, MDs, and The D.A. The films she’s been in are all titles I’ve never heard of, but there was a new one just this year called Open Window. This looks like it was an Indy film – it was released at the Sundance Film Festival. Can’t wait to see what else she’s going to be in!

Tamara Taylor

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

Tamara Taylor Fans of Cam on Bones need to be sure to catch her on Saturday, December 23rd in Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Tamara Taylor plays Debrah, a “talented singer caught in the grip of drug addiction.” Be sure to check her out at 6 PM on Showtime if you get the chance!

About Watching Bones

Who doesn’t love forensic anthropology? Okay, so maybe not, but throw in David Boreanaz and an FBI agent and former sniper along with Emily Deschanel as anthropologist-by-day and best selling author-by-night, as well as other awesome cast members TJ Thyne, Micheala Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and Eric Millegan, and you’ve got a mix for an awesome show. That’s just what you get with Bones. A crime drama that has great wit, great writing, and obviously a great cast; Deschanel’s character Temperance “Bones” Brennan is socially illiterate, although brilliant, and balances out Boreanaz’s character Agent Seeley Booth as they work together to solve sometimes years-old murders. Backed by the “squints” at the Jeffersonian Museum, this team is unstoppable, but it’s the people and the relationships that really make the show. Don’t miss a minute of it!
