Booth and Bones on dating…

Monday, September 8th, 2008

This is just a cute promo clip for the new season. Check it out!

Oh, and what about Coldplay is gay? And wouldn’t you just love to see Bones kick some butt - even if “kung fu master” is a bit of a stretch…

A look at Booth’s past - coming up!

Friday, September 5th, 2008

In another short interview with David Boreanaz, we get a quick idea that we just may get our chance to see more of what makes his character, Booth, tick this season. If you remember, looking into Booth’s family and past was something that got dropped last season due to the writer’s strike (along with a lot of other storylines…) but this season we just may get to redeem our rain check on some of that footage.

I picked up from previous episodes that Booth was previously a sniper in the service, but somehow I missed the idea that he has endured torture. I suppose that would greatly influence who you were and how you dealt with life - and this is something we just may get a chance to see a little better this season. Boreanaz says that we may get to see Booth where he lives (literally - as in his apartment), and how he gets up and gets ready each day - how hard it is for him and how he shelters himself with this protective front he puts on every day. And of course, you can imagine that this will also reveal a little bit more about his relationship with Bones, and I’m sure the other squints, so maybe we’ll get a little closer to getting under his skin.

Sounds like a greats season coming up - although I really have come to expect nothing less from this group - although one could argue that the writers have a lot of making up to do to the fans for last season’s shortage and Zack nightmare

Just how devoted to Bones are you?

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Just in case you won’t be completely glued to the TV tonight while the new TWO HOUR SEASON PREMIER of BONES is on tonight, head on over to check out Lynn’s live blog of the new episode. This is one dedicated Bones fan! She’ll be logging on to her blog a little before the premiere starts, and will be blogging during the show for all of us to check in on and participate in if we can/want. Considering my toddler isn’t in bed by the time the show airs, I may not get to actually watch it until a little after it’s started, so thank goodness for DVRs!

We’ll definitely catch up later with a recap and I’m sure plenty of OMG moments from the season premiere - how could we not?!? - but unfortunately I won’t be able to do so “live.” So check out Lynn’s blog as she watches the show! Be a part of the Bones blog-a-thon!

Enjoy!

EW plays 21, er, make that 17 Questions with David Boreanaz

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Check out the Q&A Entertainment Weekly has with David Boreanaz. I especially love this interview because it’s so personal - not at all “all about Bones.” Sure, there are things that touch on the show, but it’s more about David and who he is and why or how he ticks. Questions like: What do you think about karaoke (that it should be done while highly intoxicated in an intimate setting) , who are you most often mistaken for (who knew Josh Brolin would make the list - but how appropriative since he was one of my “top-watch” guys growing up too), which Rocky movie is the best (close call between Rocky and Rocky III), who’d you write a fan letter to when you were younger (Farrah Fawcett)… that sort of thing.

Oh, and did you know that David doesn’t have a DVR? Just one of many interesting things you can find out in this series.

Booth and Bones get to do what this season?

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

I don’t think it’s any secret by now the biggest news of the Bones panel at Comic Con. Booth and Bones will get naked this season - together, that is! Unfortunately for us, though, Hart Hanson was a very cautious about how he worded his statement, which implies that it’s not as cut and dry as it may seem. There are so many ways that the writers could get Booth and Bones together where they just happen to be naked, or where circumstances deem it necessary, that “naked” doesn’t mean but so much. Without some hanky panky, well, naked is just naked. After all, Bones has already seen Booth naked, and we all remember how she reacted - very professionally and even complimentary of him for not being puritanical about it. (That was such a great scene!!!)

In other romantic news, we also have the promise of a few other romances to look forward to this season. Bones will be dating at least two other men, and we already know that Angela’s husband and a previous girlfriend will resurface to cause trouble for her and Hodgins. Who else? Sweets may be headed for a romance of his own - which I think is just great. Not that he could EVER come close to replacing Zack, but his character has grown on me and I think that seeing him grow as part of the team on the show may just help to heal some of the wounds left by Zack’s defection from the world of the sane and not-murders. Also to look forward to is a possible relationship for Cam - with one of Angela’s old flames, no less! How odd would it be for Cam to hook up with Roxy? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see…

For you Alex O’Loughlin fans…

Monday, September 1st, 2008

Since so far is seems like everyone has responded very favorable to Alex O’Loughlin’s vampire character from Moonlight, I just thought I’d share some things for you to look forward to!

O’Loughlin has a talent-holding deal with CBS that means they are going to work to find a new series for him - or develop a new one around him. Sounds pretty good for O’Loughlin! Apparently, one of the biggest draws to Moonlight, other than the sexy and lovable O’Louhlin, was that the show was actor-centric. If that has anything to do with based on characters and relationships instead of just the storyline, sounds like it had something in common with Bones…

Also, you can look forward to seeing O’Loughlin in a new movie scheduled to come out sometime next year (supposedly April 24th) called Whiteout - costarring Kate Beckinsale. Don’t know much about the movie at this point except that it’s based on the comic book by Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber. (I’m a big fan of comic-based movies, so this should be interesting!) The basic storyline is that a US marshal has only 3 days to investigate a murder before the dark of winter sets in. O’Loughlin is set to play a “brazen pilot who gets in trouble with the marshal.” A good role for him to play? What do you think - is it going to be one not to miss?

If you can’t wait for the movie to come out, you can always check him out in these films: August Rush (want to see that but haven’t), The Invisible (saw that, wasn’t too impressed, but don’t remember him in it), The Holiday (CUTE movie, but again, don’t remember him in it…), Feed (huh?), and Oyster Farmer (again, what?).

Top 10 favorite Bones episodes

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

If you asked me what my favorite episode of Bones was, I’d have a really hard time deciding what that would be. Apparently, many others wouldn’t be at such a loss. Sorry I missed this poll while it was open, but I thought it was neat to see what the masses thought of different Bones episodes. Tracie has listed the results of her poll on what the favorite Bones episodes of Seasons 1, 2, and 3 were. Funny thing is, the top three shows from last year were the same as the top three from this year - regardless of the new season of episodes.

I think I have to agree that The Baby in the Bough was one of my favorites, as well as The Verdict in the Story. The Mummy in the Maze episode was also one of my favorites - I loved seeing Bones lose it over the snakes, how she screamed and jumped on Booth’s back - and then how she shot him in the leg before finally admitting that maybe the gun was too big for her… Also, that was the Halloween episode where we got to see Angela dressed up as Cher, Cam as Catwoman, Zack as half a cow, Booth as a squint, and best of all, Bones dressed as Wonder Woman! Yeah, I guess that one has to my favorite so far…

How about you - did any of your favorites make the list?

New episodes of Bones to start next week!

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

Tonight’s reruns of Bones (there were two back to back) are getting us ready for next week. Can you believe the new season starts next week!?! How awesome! Anyway, tonight we got reruns of the last two episodes of last season - Wannabe In the Weeds and A Pain in the Heart. You know, just in case any of us fans had forgotten how they left us hanging last spring. I thought the two-hour, back-to-back episodes were an especially nice touch since we’ll also be getting a blessed two-hour event next week…

Celebrate with Eric today!

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Happy, happy birthday Eric! Today Eric Millegan is 34 years young!

(Considering he’s known for his “baby-face,” it’s kind of ironic that he’s younger than only David Boreanaz and Tamara Taylor on the show Bones!)

PREVIEW clips of Yanks in the UK

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Just in case the title of this post didn’t warn you enough…

Wouldn’t you love to have the inside scoop like Kristin at E!Online does… How cool of a job that would be! Guess the next best thing is that it’s her job to share her inside scoops with us! Anyway, she got to talk with Hart Hanson and Barry Josephson about the upcoming season of Bones, and while some of it was repeats of what we’ve already heard (and heard, and heard), some of the stuff was new info, like tht Bones may be going on location more as time goes on, and she even blessed us with some clips from the upcoming season premiere, Yanks in the UK. Check them out below if you don’t mind spoilers - otherwise, save me the nasty comments about spoiling it for you and don’t watch!

My favorite clip - it’s a toss-up between clips 1 and 2. I LOVE where Booth freaks out in traffic, and when the guy gets a surprise when he hits Booth, that’s pretty awesome… What do you think?

David Boreanaz interviews with Craig Ferguson

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

A little while after Emily Deschanel was interviewed on The Late Show with Craig Ferguson, David Boreanaz followed suit. They started the segment with a clip from the show - same as they did with Emily’s interview. The clip they used from The Wannabe in the Weeds cracks me up - I love seeing people I recognize from other shows. In this one, all I can see is Neelix from Star Trek: Voyager (the last Star Trek show before they went back to do “Enterprise“)

In the interview, David corrects Craig about the color of his upholstery and explains that he’s color-savvy because they’re redecorating their house. Then he calls Craig on the man-crush he admitted to having on David to Emily Deschanel. That little bit was worth the whole interview! Later, Craig compares Bones to Moonlighting (haven’t heard that one before…) only he goes on to say, unlike anything I’ve heard comparing the shows before, that Bones is better because Moonlighting didn’t have enough skeletons in it. (I wonder if the ever get tired of hearing their show compared to Moonlighting…)

They talk briefly about David’s birthday plans with “uncle Art” and exactly who this Uncle Art guy is. This quickly disintegrates into more crude talk (which seems to happen pretty often and pretty effortlessly between these two guys!), and then David admits to having a case of “Blackberry Thumb,” and more hilarity ensues. Maybe I should make a point to watch more late night tv…

Check out the video and enjoy!

Romance is in the air for the Bones crew!

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

I don’t think it’s any secret by now the biggest news of the Bones panel at Comic Con. Booth and Bones will get naked this season - together, that is! Unfortunately for us, though, Hart Hanson was a very cautious about how he worded his statement, which implies that it’s not as cut and dry as it may seem. Without some hanky panky, well, naked is just naked. After all, Bones has already seen Booth naked, and we all remember how she reacted - very professionally and even complimentary of him for not being puritanical about it. (That was such a great scene!!!) However, I can’t wait to see how they play it out - and how “professional” Booth is able to be about it. Seems like even Bones had a tiny bit of trouble keeping a straight face at the sight of Booth naked, so who knows? Maybe even she’ll fall apart (at least a little bit) at the combined nakedness. We can only hope!

In other romantic news, we also have the promise of a few other romances to look forward to this season. Bones will be dating at least two other men, and we already know that Angela’s husband and a previous girlfriend will resurface to cause trouble for her and Hodgins. Who else? Kristin’s interview with David

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

The really sad thing for me is that as much as I completely and totally know that TV and movie stars are just people like you and me, I can’t for a minute convince myself that I would have the poise and confidence that Kristin from E! does when talking to them. Oh to have such a job - and the personality to carry it off successfully!

The following video is just a great example of David’s real-guy attitude and although it’s loaded with fashion and wardrobe talk, there is some talk about their time in London. Check it out and sigh along with me that we can’t all have such awesome jobs…

Season 4 premiere!

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

The first episode of Bones when it returns will be a 2 part episode titled The Yanks in the UK. If they don’t change anything on us, it should air September 3rd. Obviously by now we all get that they’re filming in London. We also know that Angela’s long lost husband has been cast, so it’s finally time to meet him! It appears that we won’t have to wait long, since he should be making his appearance during the season premiere.

Grayson “Birimbau” Barasa, played by Sean Blakemore, will show up, refusing to sign divorce papers because he is still in love with Angela. Can we blame him? Of course this causes all kinds of fun and trauma for the couple, and ends up leading to a brawl involving not only Birimbau and Hodgins, but Sweets as well. (How’d HE get involved?!?)

In London, we’ll get to see several different locations, including the Thames River, Oxford University, the historic Tower Bridge, the stately Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, and well as throughout the streets of the city, which tells us that at least Booth and Bones are getting a chance to see the town. (And lets us know that they’re not in a studio on the west coast pretending to be in London…) Not only are they there to help solve a murder, but Bones is guest speaking at Oxford and Booth gets his own moment in the spotlight as he speaks to Scotland Yard. I can’t wait to see Booth as a guest speaker. Wonder if he’ll be wearing his famous socks and belt buckle…

About the upcoming premiere, Hart Hanson said, ““It has a slight Upstairs, Downstairs aspect to it, with servants and royalty and the class system. An heiress with an American father is yanked from the Thames in her Range Rover.

“Brennan and Booth are here lecturing. Booth is lecturing at Scotland Yard and Brennan is lecturing at Oxford about working with cops. The murder happens… the FBI would have jurisdiction over it if Scotland Yard invited them.”

Comic-Con Bones panel

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Just once I’d love to be able to go to the Comic-Con. Not only for the great panels they have, but because I’m a big comic fan. I admit it, I’m a not-so-closet comic-geek. Well, a wanna-be anyway. I only discovered comics as a young adult, so my exposure is limited and my collection even more so. However, that doesn’t change the fact that I’m addicted.

This year though, at the Comic-Con, they held a panel with the Bones group. How neat would it have been to have been able to be there for that. Apparently they showed a clip of a new episode from next season that involved a new squint (aka Zack replacement) and crap. As in actual poop. That’s pretty much all I’ve heard about the clip, so no major spoilers here, unless you’re devastated to learn ahead of time about the poop. Sorry if I spoiled anything for you there.

The panel also talked about their time in London and a few spoilers for the upcoming season were mentioned, although I’ve got a few other posts that I wanted to talk about those in, so you’ll just have to wait and check back for more info on those! One we already know, that Zack will be coming back for occasional appearances. No big shocker there, although unfortunately they’re not somehow finding some non-cheesy way to make him being a murderer a dream… Also, there was a little info given that they had thought about ending the season not with the bombshell of Zack as the killer but with Booth being shot - meaning we would have had to wait ALL SUMMER to find out that he hadn’t been killed. How sucky would that have been?

About Watching Bones

Who doesn’t love forensic anthropology? Okay, so maybe not, but throw in David Boreanaz and an FBI agent and former sniper along with Emily Deschanel as anthropologist-by-day and best selling author-by-night, as well as other awesome cast members TJ Thyne, Micheala Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and Eric Millegan, and you’ve got a mix for an awesome show. That’s just what you get with Bones. A crime drama that has great wit, great writing, and obviously a great cast; Deschanel’s character Temperance “Bones? Brennan is socially illiterate, although brilliant, and balances out Boreanaz’s character Agent Seeley Booth as they work together to solve sometimes years-old murders. Backed by the “squints? at the Jeffersonian Museum, this team is unstoppable, but it’s the people and the relationships that really make the show. Don’t miss a minute of it!
