What has David “snickering”?

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

I love the Watch with Kristin blog at E!online. She gets some of the greatest scoops… Check out her latest on Bones:

Where Are They Now: According to show runner Hart Hanson, when the series premieres in the fall, we’ll pick up several months after last season’s finale, having missed “the amount of time that actually has passed.” He also says this about the only thing you really care about (admit it!), the Bones and Booth romance: “We want to keep them apart as long as we can without annoying the audience, and there are a number of ways to do that. We use a number of little steam valves to release the pressure.” Boreanaz snickers at this, and Hanson shoots back, “I didn’t mean masturbation, David!” Also, according to Ms. Emily Deschanel, this season the show explores “how being left at the altar affected them.”

Zack’s Back: Eric Millegan (and Hanson) confirm Zack Addy will be back this season, but they won’t confirm when or how. Eric did say, “He was sent home from Iraq early, and we’re going to explore why…”

Squint Love: Michaela Conlin (Angela Montenegro) says of Angela and Jack‘s romance, “Angela is not one to be pinned down. She’s a free spirit who really fell in love. We’ve been working on finding my ex-husband. It should be pretty interesting.” My man, T.J. Thyne (Dr. Jack Hodgins), meanwhile, says, “I think Jack is madly, deeply and passionately in love with her.” All together now: Awww…

Shallow Impressions: I can report from here in the catbird seat that Boreanaz’s biceps are ridiculous—good ridiculous. He looks great on the show in the suits, but I think maybe a tight T-shirt now and again wouldn‘t be such a bad idea…

The Missing Episode: According to executive producer Stephen Nathan, “Player Under Pressure,” the ep that was pulled in the wake of the Virginia Tech shootings, will be reworked. The new version preserves the mystery elements and will bring the romantic storyline up to date. He expects it might air Dec. 7, and the old material (wherein Jack proposed to Angela) will hopefully appear on a DVD…sometime somewhere.

Extra Eps: Nathan tells me the network definitely wants the 28-episode season (because of the potential writers’ strike and because reruns don‘t “work” anymore), but he’s afraid postproduction limitations may prevent that from actually happening. He expects no fewer than 24 eps but says 28 might be stretching it. Start sending your nudge letters now.

Scene Shots: Exec producer Barry Josephson says they built out the FBI set this season, so look for more focus on the federales. And as a tease, he adds that the pressure releases for the Booth-Bones sexual tension may include more “third parties.”

Featurette: Emily did a DVD commentary with her real-life father, Caleb Deschanel, and Stephen Fry for “The Glowing Bones in the Old Stone House.”

I’m disappointed to hear they may be bringing in some more “third parties,” but I guess I understand why they would. And I guess that as much as I want to see Angela and Hodgins together, this newest twist to keep them apart - in so far as them not being married - is a pretty good storyline.

I also hate to hear that we may not get to see the missing episode… I guess that’s just one more great reason for us to all buy the DVD when it comes out!

Season 3 SPOILERS!!

Friday, June 8th, 2007

You were warned! Okay, so neither of these are earthshattering, but still…

Kristin at E! answered various questions on different shows, two of which referred to our beloved Bones. Check out her responses.

Cynthia in Hermosa Beach: Is Cam coming back to Bones next year?
Tamara Taylor is back as a regular in season three. Show creator Hart Hanson says, “We are keeping Tamara! We did not kill Cam, you’ll notice. She got to be really popular, so we can’t kill her—and she’s so beautiful!” The original plan was to bring her on and then off her in ep six, but she gelled so well with the cast that her death was pushed back to ep 13, and so on. As for Cam’s future, Tamara Taylor has some ideas: “I’d like a love interest, if I could just put that out there. Because the whole triangle, while good, you have to add more nuance, you have to add more layers to it.”

Sally in Apple Valley, California: Any dish on season three of Bones?
Zack returns from Iraq for season three, but he may be a changed, more mature man. As executive producer Stephen Nathan quips about this so-called maturity, “Yeah, he’ll be about 20 years older and have a beard!”

Spaceman in a Crater - ep 2.20

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

angela-hodgins.jpg Since episode 2.19, Player Under Pressure, has been cancelled until further notice due to the shooting at VA Tech, our next all-new episode is going to be 2.20 or better known as Spaceman in a Crater on May 2nd.

When a dead man is found in a crater, investigation shows that the body fell from an extreme altitude. Very extreme. As in from outer space.

Once Bones and Booth identify the man as an astronaut, they begin to try to piece together clues about his missions - which of course are confidential. As the squints continute to study the body, they find slash marks on the bones which lead them to the conclusion that his fall was not accidental but murder.

Of course, since this is a man that fell from space, you can expect the alien conversation and quips, and, even better, there should be some relationship stuff going on in this episode. No, not Booth and Bones (no more than usual, anyway), but Angela and Hodgins. We can expect a proposal of sorts to offset the spaceman.

Don’t miss it!

Bones spoiler!

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

Michael Ausiello has an inside track on a Bones spoiler - check it out!

Question: Two Bones characters headed down the aisle? Is this for real?— Caitlin
Ausiello: Sure is! And notice how I said “headed down the aisle” as opposed to “marry.” Check out my latest vodcast for more! Also be sure to check out TVGuide.com’s Movie Talk vodcast, starring my colleagues Maitland McDonagh and Ken Fox. I can honestly say it’s the second coolest vodcast on our site.

The Priest in the Churchyard

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

Looks like we’ve got a good episode coming up this week! Not only do we have our typical great characters, but the writers have thrown in the always fun religious controversy! After a waterline breaks underneath a cemetary, causing all the coffins to unearth themselves, Bones is called in to help sort out allthe remains.

Throw in two priests who don’t see eye to eye and the always eagar to argue Bones and Booth, and you’ve got a mix for interesting. Seeing that Booth is somewhat devout in his faith and Bones is very atheistic, this should be an interesting case. Not only that, but their bickering lands them both in counseling with Booth’s therapist, Dr. “Gordon, Gordon Wyatt.” (ha ha!)

About Watching Bones

Who doesn’t love forensic anthropology? Okay, so maybe not, but throw in David Boreanaz and an FBI agent and former sniper along with Emily Deschanel as anthropologist-by-day and best selling author-by-night, as well as other awesome cast members TJ Thyne, Micheala Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and Eric Millegan, and you’ve got a mix for an awesome show. That’s just what you get with Bones. A crime drama that has great wit, great writing, and obviously a great cast; Deschanel’s character Temperance “Bones? Brennan is socially illiterate, although brilliant, and balances out Boreanaz’s character Agent Seeley Booth as they work together to solve sometimes years-old murders. Backed by the “squints? at the Jeffersonian Museum, this team is unstoppable, but it’s the people and the relationships that really make the show. Don’t miss a minute of it!
