David Boreanaz’s tattoo
Shame on me - this just goes to show how closely I pay attention to the little details… Aren’t you glad that someone does? The Daily Observer posted and answered one fan’s question about David Boreanaz’s tattoo on this wrist that is apparently sometimes visible in shots of Bones. Here it is with their answer.
Q: I am an avid fan of David Boreanaz from “Bones” and “Angel.” Sometimes on “Bones” I can see a glimpse of a tattoo on his wrists. What is it of? -Debra, via e-mail
A: David and his wife, Jamie Bergman, have matching tattoos on the inside of each of their wrists. They are Kanji symbols, one meaning “soul” and the other “destiny/fate” They say that when they hold hands, their souls and their destinies are joined together.
Here’s what the symbols are supposed to look like up close…

I like to hear that some people have put some thought into what they have as their tattoos. Considering it’s going to be with you for a long time, it should be something that means something to them.

I am a big David Boreanaz lover. And I was wondering why he has a tatoo with a bird with an a on the bottom of it on his back?

I’m fairly certain that that tattoo on David Boreanaz’s back was a fake, only for his role as Angel in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

And “Angel.” Can’t forget that awesome spin-off!

It was indeed fake, designed for Angel by the show’s make-up artist Todd McIntosh. And it was a gryphon, not a bird.

I’m afraid to say that;
on his left wrist,”mei-un” means destiny but usually use on a bad situation. The symbol on this article “un-mei”(switch the symbol before and behind) means fate or destiny which has both good and bad meaning.
on his right wrist, “rei” mainly means ghost or dead person’s soul (we japanese naturally respect every dead people as a spiritual holy soul) . The symbol on this article”tamashii” means soul or some kind of mentality.
I’m really sorry that he might not check it to japanese person about each meaning.
