Emily Deschanel in My Sister’s Keeper?
I haven’t heard much about the movie My Sister’s Keeper - some of my friends have talked briefly about the book and therefore we’re now going to go see it. So I’ll be off to the theater, with a pack of tissues in hand just in case, tonight to check it out. Since I didn’t know too much about it, I checked it out at both commonsense.com and pluggedin.com to see what the reviews had to say. Unfortunately, there’s something to be said for a little bit of ignorance: I now feel like I’ve practically seen the film just by reading the website’s reviews/breakdowns of it!
However, in checking out who was in it, I found out that Emily Deschanel has a role as Dr. Farquad. No idea who the character is or if it’s a big/small role, but that she’s in the film at all is a nice surprise. Oddly enough, one of the first things that came to mind when I read who she was playing was, “she’s a character named after the evil prince-wannabe in Shrek.” Ugh. But if anyone could make that name look good, it’s Emily!

It sounds like the film is going to be a tearjerker, and not exactly a fun or relaxing escape from reality, so I have a feeling I’m going to have to swing by someplace “fun” on the way home and pick up a milkshake or something to make up for it. But hey, that’s okay with me! In the meantime, I’m looking forward to seeing Emily as a non-anthropologist role, although as a doctor, I’m sure she’s still got the “brainy” character going on. I think sometime I’d like to see her in something goofy…
