Green Lantern a no-go for David Boreanaz
I just don’t get Hollywood. There’s so many decisions and so much politics and money going on behind the scenes, well, I guess I’ll never understand the why’s and wherefore’s. It appears that David Boreanaz is not on the list of actors who is being considered for the role in the live-action version of the Green Lantern movie after all. Talk about disappointments. I knew that when I heard the rumor that it was not guarantee that we’d see David on the big screen - I mean, the movie is still in it’s baby-stages, but at least I had hope.
Apparently, according to the people in charge, he’s too old to play the part. WHAT? Are they crazy? There are so many excellent and valid arguments against that, I don’t even know where to start. They say that the character Hal Jordan is supposed to be 27, and since Boreanaz is in his late 30’s, he’s not a good fit. That’s crap.

If you read some of the comments on the different articles posted on this, there are people arguing that test pilots aren’t usually so young (27 years old), and that David’s age shouldn’t be an issue. Then there’s an argument supporting the studio’s decision in that younger actors are chosen in case there are multiple films, allowing them to age appropriately with the character in the movie. Okay, I get that, but what about Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man? I think he was excellent in that movie and role, and I can’t wait to see the next films they come out with. (They’ve actually got two more in the planning stages, with the second due out in 2010 - or so they say…)
Anyway, just thought I’d set the record straight, and share my disappointment. What about you guys - are you in agreement with the studio’s choice, or do you they’re daft for not giving him a chance?
