Happy late April 1st!
I just wanted to share this little tid-bit from the oh-so-reliable and always truthful world wide web. While digging up the dirt for the Ausiello’s comment about Nicholas Brendon, I came across this little article on ComicBookMovie.com.
The headline alone screamed out at me and I just HAD to find out what it was all about…
Nicholas Brendon Replaces Maguire in 4th Spider-Man Movie!
You heard it here first! According to sources close to director Sam Raimi, Buffy’s Xander has been chosen to take over for tired Tobey Maguire–who has refused to sign for a fourth Spidey flick!
Maguire has reportedly been dragging his feet about returning to the superhero role, and Raimi is quoted as saying, “I’ve Had it up to here with that spoiled bastard! I made him a star!” On advice from friend Joss Whedon, Raimi has cast Nicolas Brendon, the wise cracking member of the Scooby gang on BTVS–a Whedon joint.
What in the world??? I love Brendon as Xander, and even in a few of the corny made-for-tv movies he’s been in, but Spiderman?
I mean, he’s adorable in Buffy in his geeky kind of way and all, but can you see this guy as the amazing Spiderman? I guess if we were to lose the hat, and to be fair, I’ve never personally seen him in anything other than a very few limited roles. Considering the circumstances though, I’m still skeptical…
And then I see the ever famous “For the full story click here.” And where should it take me but to… well, you’ll have to click and see for yourself!
