The Bones Kiss we didn’t get to see!

by

Oh wow, no wonder Emily Deschanel had a hard time keeping a straight face! I’d get the giggles too if I got the chance to kiss David Boreanaz like that! In fact, I’m pretty sure I’d act so much like a giddy schoolgirl that I’d most definitely embarrass myself. (Of course, seeing that my husband might have a serious problem with that, it’s probably a good thing that that’s one opportunity that will never come my way!) And I have to say, Emily did a great job cutting off the laughter and pulling it together to shoot the scene. There’s no doubt that she’s good at what she does!

Check out this video clip of one of the takes on the most talked about kiss - you know, the kiss between Booth and Bones - this fall. This one apparently was a little more, um, enthusiastic than the producers wanted, so it didn’t make the cut. Since we got a kiss, we’re all pretty happy, but how much more so would we have been if THIS was the kiss version we’d seen in the first place! I love how Emily really gets into it, grabbing David’s suit lapels and pulling him a little bit closer… And this kiss explains the gum exchange so much better than the tight-lipped kiss we saw on TV. Oh well, it was still a kiss, and it was still great, even if it wasn’t quite as enjoyed by the actors.

And we wonder why Hollywood marriages are known for their short life-spans! Could you imagine being married to someone who was required to kiss another person for their job? I’m glad that David and his wife seem so solid! And Emily has denied a recent romance rumor, so hopefully she doesn’t have to worry about a significant other being jealous… But hey, it’s just acting, right?

About Watching Bones

Who doesn’t love forensic anthropology? Okay, so maybe not, but throw in David Boreanaz and an FBI agent and former sniper along with Emily Deschanel as anthropologist-by-day and best selling author-by-night, as well as other awesome cast members TJ Thyne, Micheala Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and Eric Millegan, and you’ve got a mix for an awesome show. That’s just what you get with Bones. A crime drama that has great wit, great writing, and obviously a great cast; Deschanel’s character Temperance “Bones Brennan is socially illiterate, although brilliant, and balances out Boreanaz’s character Agent Seeley Booth as they work together to solve sometimes years-old murders. Backed by the “squints at the Jeffersonian Museum, this team is unstoppable, but it’s the people and the relationships that really make the show. Don’t miss a minute of it!
