The Finger in the Nest - Ep. 4.04

by

This week’s Bones episode takes a cue from an old Monk episode - where a little boy in foster care finds a severed finger that mounts an investigation of “where did it come from and who does it belong to?” While the Monk episode ended on a relatively happy note - the little boy got a better home and the intended hostage was released (and no one ended up dead), the connection between the two pretty much ends with the little boy finding the finger. Oh yeah, and did I mention that it’s Parker, Booth’s son, who finds the finger?

Of course there’s a body involved, which means a murder. The body shows evidence that the fatal injuries were caused by a dog, the team brings in “dog whisperer” Cesar Millan (as himself) to help with the case.

This week’s episode we’re also introduced to 40-year-old, and father of four, Scott Starret, played by Michael Badalucco - Bone’s oldest grad student who will be filling in for a bit to “try out” for Zack’s job. Also, we’ll get to see Sweets in action again as Booth enlists his help in checking our his son Parker to see if he’s been traumatized by finding the finger in the first place. That should be some fun scenes! And I think it’s great that Booth is finally starting to accept Sweets as part of the team - or at least recognizing his talents!

If you believe spoiler reports online, we’ll find out just what Parker is traumatized about (and it doesn’t have to do with the finger), and we’ll see Hodgins open up to the new intern about his … feelings! You know, about ex-best friend Zack the murderer and ex-fiance Angela? Boy, that should be a release! I’m also really excited to see how the new intern Scott does with the group. Just the fact alone that he’s so much older than the rest of the cast should be interesting, but add to that the fact that he’s a parent - to FOUR kids - should give him a completely different outlook on life in general. It’s gonna be good!

About Watching Bones

Who doesn’t love forensic anthropology? Okay, so maybe not, but throw in David Boreanaz and an FBI agent and former sniper along with Emily Deschanel as anthropologist-by-day and best selling author-by-night, as well as other awesome cast members TJ Thyne, Micheala Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and Eric Millegan, and you’ve got a mix for an awesome show. That’s just what you get with Bones. A crime drama that has great wit, great writing, and obviously a great cast; Deschanel’s character Temperance “Bones? Brennan is socially illiterate, although brilliant, and balances out Boreanaz’s character Agent Seeley Booth as they work together to solve sometimes years-old murders. Backed by the “squints? at the Jeffersonian Museum, this team is unstoppable, but it’s the people and the relationships that really make the show. Don’t miss a minute of it!
