Tonight’s episode 4.05 - The Perfect Pieces In The Purple Pond

by

Tonight’s episode of Bones should be very interesting - not the the show usually isn’t… But a decapitated body lying in a puddle of purple water, well, that’s certainly an unusual way to start out. (But then again, so is glowing bones, and skinny-dipping in a hot mud bath, and, well, I could go on and on.) But, add to the purple puddle Wendell, the new, young intern who appears to be throwing in a little confusion about his position as Bone’s “boy toy” and the deceased person’s lack of head and diagnosis of OCD, well, we should be in for some interesting viewing. (I’m especially interested in seeing how they portray the OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). If you ever watch Monk, you’ll have some idea of what they could do with it, but to see how they deal with it in a less comedic manner should be interesting. Also, we’ll be getting more of Sweet’s insight into the victim’s psyche, and I’m always excited to see more of Sweets. Funny, didn’t think I’d like him at first…)

Oh yeah, and what about the surprise ending hinted at in the promo clip? And let’s not forget the fact that Zack will help the squints team with insight into the case from his, um, off-site location. That and we get some info on how Sweets has been a regular visitor to Zack, and we are supposedly going to see how Zack is now blaming Gorgomon for his actions. Hmmm, don’t know about that one. With as analytical as Zack is, the finger-pointing game doesn’t really seem to be his thing, but I guess we’ll have to see how it turns out… Not long now!

I loved that when Booth saw the action figures in Jared’s room, he wanted to call in “expert” Sweets to get insight into Jared.

I think that on it’s own, the whole Wendell misunderstanding arc would have been funnier but it was overshadowed by the return of Zack.

And the final few minutes (I’m trying not to give it away) more than made up for last year’s finale. I was happy/relieved to learn what we found out, but at the same time it was still sad.

last episode was much better than premiere. Bones deal with another lost, Booth supported her- actualy that was next great epi since that with little-boy Andy in season 3.

Finally, I’m feeling the old Bones magic! I’ve been very disappointed by this season until this episode. I had to watch every Zach scene at least twice. How great was it to see the gang together again? And the Zack/Jack scene was very touching.

And they dropped the overt sexual innuendo between Brennan/Booth and returned to a sweeter tone, yeah.

Oh, I must say that I’m loving Sweets.

About Watching Bones

Who doesn’t love forensic anthropology? Okay, so maybe not, but throw in David Boreanaz and an FBI agent and former sniper along with Emily Deschanel as anthropologist-by-day and best selling author-by-night, as well as other awesome cast members TJ Thyne, Micheala Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and Eric Millegan, and you’ve got a mix for an awesome show. That’s just what you get with Bones. A crime drama that has great wit, great writing, and obviously a great cast; Deschanel’s character Temperance “Bones Brennan is socially illiterate, although brilliant, and balances out Boreanaz’s character Agent Seeley Booth as they work together to solve sometimes years-old murders. Backed by the “squints at the Jeffersonian Museum, this team is unstoppable, but it’s the people and the relationships that really make the show. Don’t miss a minute of it!
