Weird Angel connection

by

moonlight.jpg Okay, so maybe David is trying as hard as humanly possible to distance himself from his Buffy and Angel years, but those of us who are his fans will never forget where we first fell in love with him. So, on the topic of Angel, since our favorite vampire with a soul has been off the air for a while, the co-creator of Daivd’s claim to fame (David Greenwalt) is taking his vampire talent elsewhere.

According to Zap2It, new drama coming this fall called Moonlight will feature an “undead private investigator (Alex O’Loughlin [see photo above]) fighting various supernatural forces while also battling very human crime. He’s joined by his former bride and vamp sire (Amber Valletta) and his vampire mentor (Rade Serbedzija). The vampire P.I. also has a budding romance with a living newswoman (Lucio in the presentation).” Sound a little like a show we all miss? Hmmm…. it’s sad when they try to replace something you love with something that just can’t ever fill it’s shoes.

Sorry, I guess I shouldn’t say that it’s destined to fail before I even see it, but I do have to admit that I won’t be able to watch the show without comparing it to Angel. However, maybe having Greenwalt on board will help.

Other than the Angel connection, I thought it was funny that you hear Bones compared to the show Moonlighting so often, and here’s this new show with so many tie-backs to David Boreanaz, and it’s called Moonlight. Coincidence?

About Watching Bones

Who doesn’t love forensic anthropology? Okay, so maybe not, but throw in David Boreanaz and an FBI agent and former sniper along with Emily Deschanel as anthropologist-by-day and best selling author-by-night, as well as other awesome cast members TJ Thyne, Micheala Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and Eric Millegan, and you’ve got a mix for an awesome show. That’s just what you get with Bones. A crime drama that has great wit, great writing, and obviously a great cast; Deschanel’s character Temperance “Bones? Brennan is socially illiterate, although brilliant, and balances out Boreanaz’s character Agent Seeley Booth as they work together to solve sometimes years-old murders. Backed by the “squints? at the Jeffersonian Museum, this team is unstoppable, but it’s the people and the relationships that really make the show. Don’t miss a minute of it!
